Senator: Russia may close borders again if pandemic worsens
MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- Russia may close its borders again and reduce the number of flights if the coronavirus situation in the country worsens, Valery Ryazansky, first deputy head of the social committee of the parliament’s upper chamber Federation Council, told PRIME on Monday.
According to the operational headquarters of the Russian government for fight with the coronavirus, the amount of new coronavirus cases grew by 10,888 people on Monday.
“We can obviously close Russia’s borders, we are moving closer to that,” Ryazansky said.
“The more people travel, the more cases of infection there are.”
He added that many countries are taking serious measures like Israel, which imposed a state-wide quarantine.
